For those interested in the aircraft that became the sky giant of the day click on the link above. It too phased out rapidly after the war ended. Many improvements and designs came off the drawing boards and were manufactured in the years to come. The Heavy Bombers of WW ll rapidly lost the Classification of Heavy.

This site is dedicated to the memory of Leland Walzel who served as a bombardier in the 93rd Bombardment Group, 330th Bomb Squad. His plane was shot down on March 6, 1944 over Germany. He was on his 25th mission and looking forward to returning home to -----------------
